How to train your Dragon..

How to train your Dragon.. - Last weekend me and my room mates decided to go some movie. I chose "How to train your dragon" and it didn't fail me..

Movie is a 3D one and is more suitable for being one unlike "Avtar". This one looked especially framed for 3D. Not only that but humour too.

"Hiccup" (name itself explains the characterisation) is really a hiccup in the great warriors dynasty who fight dragons and unfortunately son of the leader.

He's not only afraid of fighting dragons but he can't. He accidentally hits a "night mare" which looks out to be the most dangerous dragons alive. When he approaches it, he figures out the way in which the humans are afraid of dragons, dragons do have same scary feel towards humans. With the help of "Night mare", he finds out the ways to attract and train dragons so that they become pets. This helps him out in becoming the winner of internal "Handling Dragon" training. But later when the herd's lead comes to know that he's keeping a dragon as a pet and that alone can get him the place where the dragons are produced. How Hiccup makes his  group understand the true nature of dragons and whether he saves dragons from the group and in turn his group from dragons forms the rest.

What amazes really is the story and the dialogues which really are not just for kids. As already said, 3D too adds a point to this flick. If you have a real thing for 3D and new technologies, give this one a shot.

It's worth it....

Love.. Lust.. and Life..

Love, Lust and Life.. - A recent book I happen to read on my vacation! to Madurai and due to bounty power cuts. But everything's for good. I am attracted to the book and finished in two days. Am a slow reader :)

Book revolves around the story of an orthodox Muslim boy Ameen transforming into what he calls himself  "Pop of lies" before he dies. The book starts from the naive childhood of Ameen, his first crush, actually more of  a friend. His protector type friend Zain, the typical mumbai wala friend Haider and last but not least his lad love Priyanka.

The book portraits the difference between raw mechanical life of Mumbai and the poignant and peaceful life in the so called "Town". The way in which a person transforms from a mother' son to a moron.

More importantly the narration and the characterizations holds the book straight up. The way the book ended may be quite bit a disappointment for a few. But the last few pages shows real colour of India. Especially the following phrase,

            "I am not proud to be an Indian"

World stinks...

முடை நாற்றம்.. - அது தான் இந்த பகுதியின் தலைப்பின் அர்த்தம். கடந்த வாரம் நடந்த கசப்பான சம்பவம் பற்றியது இந்த பகுதி. எனக்கு நேரவில்லை. நமக்கு நடந்தால் தானா? நாம் மனிதர்கள் இல்லையா? மிகவும் கசப்பான அனுபவம். என்னுடன் வேலை செய்யும் நண்பருக்கு "D" பேண்ட் வழங்கப்பட்டது. மென்பொருள் மொழியில் "Screwed up". அது கசப்பான அனுபவம் இல்லை. அதை ஒப்புக்கொள்ளாமல் நண்பர் அணித்தலைவருடன் பேச சென்றார். அங்கு நடந்தது தான் மனதை புண்படுத்தியது. 

"உன்னுடைய band ஐ அதிகப்படுத்த முடியாது. உன்னை இதிலிருந்து விடுவிக்க முடியாது. முடிந்ததை பார்த்துக்கொள்."

இது தான் பதில். அதை நண்பர் என்னிடம் சொன்ன போது எனக்கு ஒரு நிமிடம் என்ன சொல்வதென்று தெரியவில்லை. அப்படியென்றால் அவர் நிலைமை! கீழே உள்ள தஸ்லிமா நஸ்ரீன் சொன்னது தான் ஞாபகம் வருகிறது. 

"Do not degrade animals by comparing them with gang rapists and insult them. Animals don't do that."

சுறா..

சுறா.. - பாடல்கள் பற்றிய ஒரு அலசல். அனைத்து பாடல்களும் ஹிட் ரகம். எனக்கு ஒரு பாடலும் பிடிக்கவில்லை. முதல் பாடல் என நான் கருதும் "நான் நடந்தால்" பாடல் பில்லாவை ஞாபகப்படுத்துவது போல் இருக்கும். தமிழ் பில்லா அல்ல. தெலுகு பில்லா. எல்லாம் மணிஷர்மா உபயம். 

அனைத்து பாடல்களும் தெலுகில் ஏற்கனவே அடித்து துவைக்கப்பட்டவை. பில்லாவில் இருந்து ரெண்டு. பவன் கல்யாண் படங்களிலிருந்து ரெண்டு. அப்புறம் எக்ஸ்ட்ரா ரெண்டு. மணிஷர்மாவின் வேலை முடிந்தது. இப்படி செய்தால் ஆறு மாதத்திற்கென்ன இரண்டு மாதத்திற்கு கூட ஒரு படம் செய்யலாம். 

பேசாமல் விஜய் நான் சொல்லும்படி செய்யுங்கள். படா சோக்கான ஐடியா. பத்து பைட்டு, இருபது பாட்டு, அஞ்சு ஹீரோயின். ரெண்டு வருஷத்துக்கு கவலையே இல்ல. என்ன நான் சொல்றது.. 

Goa..

Goa.. - Usually I write review in tamil for tamil movies. I don't think this movie is worth to be treated as a tamil film and even as a film. Venkat Prabhu has a chilled way of telling stories. I do accept. But this is too much chilled and got frozen. Chennai 28 and Saroja both had a main theme around which Vennkat flavoured his sarcastic humour. But this film totally has no humour blah.. blah.. blah.

First few scenes make you laugh and have a hold that Venkat is going to prove himself again. But after 15 mins, I am unable to recognise whether Venkat is kidding the tamil cliches or he is kidding himself. The most important and unacceptable thing in the movie is Sneha's episode. I don't wanna discuss about it here and make my blog dirty. Its purely absurd. With this hint, If anybody dares to see the movie, please go ahead and ruin your "Holiday".
